The Logik Podcast #71: Ned Thorne
Amanda Elliott / Ned Thorne

Originally from Bainbridge Island, Washington, just across Puget Sound from Seattle, Ned grew up captivated by films and filmmaking. After graduating from Whitman College, he made his way to New York City, where he began finding his path in the entertainment industry.

With nearly two decades of experience in post-production, Ned has worked on a wide range of projects, including Day Zero, The First 48, Boomerang, 9-1-1 original and Lone Star, Shantaram, Rumble Through the Dark, Kung Fury 2, Coyote Vs. ACME,  and the forthcoming The Most Serious Fart.

And there's a lot more to Ned's creative journey than just editing. He's also a writer and director of numerous short films, as well as the Cape Town-set feature thriller 419.. Throughout his career, he's worked across independent films, major studio productions, and television, bringing a unique perspective to the art of storytelling and the collaborative process of filmmaking.

In this podcast, we're going to get into how Ned found his way into the business, the people and experiences that helped shape his career, some of the challenges and lessons along the way, and what continues to inspire him as a filmmaker.

But before we begin, we'd like to celebrate the life and achievements  of Eric Bauza, who is mentioned in today's conversation and who sadly passed away several weeks after this podcast was recorded.

Eric was an incredible performer, widely acclaimed as the voice of countless wonderful animated characters, and especially beloved as the current voice for most of the classic Looney Tunes, many of which appeared in Coyote Vs. ACME. His influence and contributions will continue to resonate throughout the voiceover community and the entertainment industry.

We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues, as we remember him with respect and appreciation.
